Where to stay for live events

For shows at the United Center or events in Wicker Park and the North Side, staying in Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, or River North puts you within reasonable distance. The Loop and Magnificent Mile area is the most central for theatre and the large Loop venues. For Wrigley Field events, Wrigleyville accommodation fills quickly on Cubs game days and concert nights — book well in advance.

Transport from accommodation

Chicago's grid street layout and CTA network make it practical to stay almost anywhere on the North or Near West Side and reach major venues by rail. The Red Line runs the length of the North Side and connects to the Loop. See our getting to venues guide for specific routes.
